RHC's Unforgettable Parent-Child End Of Season Mini Matches
As 2024 Mini hockey comes to an end, Riverside Hockey Club’s recent Friday session was a thrilling display of matches between parents and children. The event was highlighted by the return of Gowan Jones, fresh from the Paris Olympics, where he served as the Goalkeeper for the South African Men’s team. Also gracing the field was Ann Grant, a former Olympic Gold medalist who captained the 1980 Zimbabwean Women’s team to victory in Moscow.
Tomorrow night marks the final session of 2024, where parents will once again join their children on the field, embodying the strong sense of community that Riverside is known for. With a commitment to inclusivity and sportsmanship, the club fosters a welcoming environment where families can come together to enjoy the sport of hockey. The mini hockey program, designed for young players from the age of 4 years old, emphasises fundamental skills while nurturing a love for the game.
Riverside Hockey Club is dedicated to cultivating a culture of respect and high performance, providing young athletes with an exceptional opportunity to grow and excel within a vibrant community.
