The Jones Astro Now At Northwood

Gowan Jones what a superstar! The best role model for any aspiring young athlete – always committed, puts the team and institution first, gives 100% and always with a smile on his face! Wonderful accolade for the most deserving individual.

“Old Boys Day saw the special occasion of the naming of our Northwood Astro. The newly christened ‘Jones Astro’ honours Old Boy, Gowan Jones (2007), who played hockey from grade 8 to 1st Team level – achieving an impressive 105 caps for Northwood.

Gowan then went on to represent SA with a further 85 caps, 3 World Cups, 1 Olympics, and 2 African Cups, as well as Pro League.

We are honoured to carry the Jones name as inspiration to the many young hockey players who play on our Astro.”
